Blade of Grass

Open eyes feign closed whilst voices pierce the air.
None can hear them, soon we all will listen.
Quaking calm dissolves sorrow‘s silent screams.
A lone blade of grass; proud inheritor of prophecy.
Inside its frail, lucid casing, all history has gathered;
Truth‘s cryptic masterpiece; nature’s forced epiphany.
No tree, nor forest, printed, can fathom Grass’ proof;
Earth’s cached library; ingrained in purest pact;
Man’s touch the sole proprietor of revocation.
A given chance, however, laid within the fervent soiled;
Their life sacrificed to relay Mother’s message.
Unfortunate, for man, so few have learned her lessons;
An impairment cultured by technological naivety;
Whilst withered beauty strains to speak salvation.
Green ears dawn absent blindfolds; deaf to static warning;
The meager unrestrained infected by automated cancers.
Mankind’s innovations decay attempts at warning;
Oblivious advancements denying true fruition.
Their chance dissolved as shrills were made reserved;
As Father spoke to grass, Man must beget its fate.
Calamity shall advocate nature’s compulsion,
As the philosophy of grass endures its predicated apathy.

Wishing Well

Unbeknownst to you, I slowly suffered.
A lifetime of solitude, a heart forgotten,
Silence left to take the place of dreams.
Abandoned by hope, afraid of my desires,
Left to see the world through closed eyes.
Apathetic and cold, a mannequin on display,
Surrounded by others, yet always alone.
My sense of purpose slipping out of reach,
Afraid to look at my own reflection.
I cast my soul into a wishing well,
Sunk into its depths, embraced by fluid darkness,
The sky above grew smaller and more faint.
Yet still, I saw the shimmer of stars,
The void below unable to consume them.
These specks of light reached out to me,
Begged for me to take their hand.
There was no water at the bottom,
Only an that emptiness surrounded me.
But I could still see the lights above,
Flickers of hope I desperately clung to.
I felt eternity pass inside my mind,
All sense of reason devoured by time.
Trapped inside the well, I faced despair,
Fought against the world I had created.
Broken down as the light began to fade,
I felt a change inside of me, a yearning.
Arms raised, I begged the light to take my hand,
Wished to be pulled wholly from the darkness,
To let go of the shackles that bound me.
There is something more for me in life,
Someone willing to help shoulder my burdens.
Frantic, I struggled towards the opening,
Terrified of the waning crescent above.
The sliver vanished behind a veil of darkness,
My light severed before I reached it.
The stone beneath my hands forgotten,
My cries echoed throughout the well.
Silence crept up from the dark pit below,
And one last time, I begged to be saved.
Warmth enveloped my hand, you came for me,
The moon to illuminate the night.

Anarchy

This world is superficial; an endless collection of subservient standards.
There is no self-image, only those generated by the media.
Individuality is repressed through monotonous practices.
'Real life' is a myth; fairy tales preached by those that strip it from us.
We all live a life set in stone by those that created us.
We are products, statistics, components taken at face value, not people.
We, the ignorant masses, are the source of governmental control.
The only way to reclaim 'our' stolen humanity is too abandon everything
that they have forced upon us and start anew.
Anarchy is not what 'they' make it seem. Lawlessness, destruction, chaos.
These are the repercussions for such acts force fed to us throughout our lives;
the idea that we cannot live without them, and so they,
in order to maintain their hold, make us fear the thought of deserting them.
Anarchy, however, is something far more complex.
It is the belief that human beings can live without need of a ruler,
without the protection of some falsified ego.
It is abandonment, the act of discarding everything we know,
repentance, the idea of forgiving ourselves for the atrocities committed against the very nature of our being, enlightenment, the process of understanding and accepting that we are who we are,
and that 'they,' or anyone else, cannot control us.
Anarchy is the key to self-discovery;
it is the inspiration for mankind to return to glory.
Anarchy is salvation.

Pain

Mankind has long since attempted to define humanity. The reason for existence. And yet, few have truly grasped its meaning.

We are here to endure. We are here.. to know pain.

Pain is a most intricate of binary oppositions. A necessity that connects our physical and psychological states. The culmination of our senses and our minds. Pain is logic.

There is no joy without pain. There is no pleasure without pain. It embodies our every expression. Envokes our every response. Pain ls feeling.

There is no individuality without pain. Repercussions dictate the choices one makes. It is pain that makes us different. Pain is unique.

Mankind strives to free itself from the shackles of pain. We attempt to avoid and control it. Limit its effects and power. But it is this pain that defines our actions. Pain is guidance.

Pain opens ones eyes to the world around them. Blissful ignorance is a truly horrible thing. Pain grants you wisdom and peace. Pain is clarity.

To never know pain, is to never live at all. A meaningless existence contrived of a series of inadvertently dull and simplistic actions. Pain is essence.

Is it difficult to understand that without pain our species would have no purpose? A world without desires, is a world where nothing changes. Pain is meaning.

Pain is succeeding despite all odds It is the foundation of strength. The belief that anything is possible. Pain is hope.

Pain embodies wars, plagues, and disasters. But it is this pain that leads us to unify. To strive and hope for better tomorrows. To change and overcome. Pain is growth.

Pain is empathy and understanding. It is knowledge and improvement.
It is not the thought of being happy that drives us. It is the fear of pain.
It is not the thought of being injured that keeps us safe. It is the pain that comes with it. Pain is thought.

Pain is ethics. It is morals. It is the cliche of do unto others. It is why we give. It is why we help those in need.  The reason we give back. Pain is charity.

While physical pain can divert us from poor judgements, it is emotional pain that truly embodies and controls this world. The pain we feel when we see wrongs. The reason for law and social order. Pain is justice.

What is companionship without pain? It is the reason we long for others. Without heartache, the world would never know attraction. It would never know warmth and comfort. Pain is love.

Without pain's touch nothing is special. No meaning in a sunset. No lyrics in a song. A smile void of sincerity. Pain is beauty.

Pain is the answer to monotony. It is the cure to madness. The soundness of our reason. Our very state of mind. Pain is sanity.

Every individual feels pain. It is an unavoidable constant that lives within us all. While it is sometimes masked, it dwells inside us all. We are all acquainted. Pain is equality.

Pain does not play favorites. While some are more affected by it, it is there for all to know. The rules it follows never waver. You must learn to cope. Pain is fair.

Pain protects those who cannot protect themselves. It does not bow in the face of tyranny. Militias and petitions are composed from pain. Pain is courage.

Evil uses pain to manipulate us. But pain uses us to manipulate evil. It is the reason good triumphs. Pain is righteous.

Pain controls and distributes all resources. The driving force of our economies. It is trade itself. Pain is wealth.

Pain created a higher power. It is why billions believe in religion. It is the acceptance of one's insignificance. Pain is faith.

Pain is our television and internet. Our networks and phone lines. It allows us to delve into fantasy, and stay in touch with reality. Pain is media.

Pain is the reason for civilization. The necessity of governing bodies. The understanding that comes from knowing our place. Pain is society.

It is necessary, pain. The negative that gives meaning to all that is positive. One cannot expect to never feel it. Pain is rational.

There are so few that grasp the meaning of life. So few that truly understand and appreciate our purpose.
But those that do, are witnesses to truth..

We are nothing without pain.

Forever's Bond

Surely it was fate, that played the greatest role.
The miracle of meeting, the combining of our souls.
It wasn’t easy made, this bond that lasts forever.
In fact it took the braving, of the most damning types of weather.
But as with even darkest storms, the clouds did have to part
And brilliant rays of sun let shine, truest warmth of heart.
The mistakes along the way, the wrong paths frequent traveled.
Proved in nature works divine, necessities for love to be unraveled.
A scarlet rose, you are, amongst a sea of endless lions.
And I, your rock, forever always, a shoulder made to cry on.
Together bliss was every day, a unity of endless bounds.
For your touch would send me soaring, lift me high up off the ground.
But even with such strong conviction, cliche was proven still.
All good things must meet an end, leaving heartache and surrendered loss of will.
Those words of Gentian callousness, even God dare not remember.
For that day the flame of anger raged, leaving now black smoke and glowing ember.
And like the Phoenix, from the ashes, our paths have crossed again.
Not as Romeo and Juliet, but as the confidant, a cherished friend.
Because in my time of isolation, epiphany paved way to reason.
There is no ‘me’ without your friendship, like the world without a changing season.
Alone is not as lonely, if my call you still will answer.
For you, my voice of reason, are the music, and I, the dancer.
What if? Is not for us to ponder, it was destiny that guided true.
And though our time together short, I hope you’ll think of me, as I will always, you.

The Original

I am marred beyond the scope of righteousness.
My soul has more than once indulged forbidden fruits;
Their interdicted nectar alleviate even most Freudian desires.
I care not to repent my ways. My vices are immaculate;
Nefarious perversions woven cryptically into normalcy;
Habitual responses instilled by fears of wanting.
I am Plague’s sole justification; the familiar condemned;
A masquerading miscreant; a pretender mocking all with sight.
Pleasure’s principle nourishes my apathetic conscience.
Only threats of public persecution may exist to worry me.
I am the embodiment of civilized society;
An elaborate façade of lies and self-denial.
From the shadows, I scrutinize the wrong’s of others;
An act of self-loathing distinguished through mimicry.
Witnessing the repercussions of other’s known perversions
Only enhances my lustful appetite for societal taboos.
The threat of exposure serves as excitement‘s catalyst.
I am, and always will be, the very definition of deviant.
I am your parent, your sibling, your neighbor. I am all mankind.
I bore the apple that banished man from Eden.
I am the Original; a fated encumbrance all must share.
You will never be without my grace. You cannot be,
For your birth served equally as mine. We are one.
I will warp your conscience and deteriorate your psyche,
But my presence alone is not enough to stir your hand.
 You must be the one to actuate my benevolent depravity.
You will crave what only I can give. You will sin.
I am free will‘s burden; humanity’s only true divine right.

The Unknown

I know not which I choose to fear.
Two things inevitable, yet neither clear.
Both hold great wonder; a chance unknown.
Cause tears for some and make others grown.
Each bears a piece of who we are;
Define our actions; create our scars.
Without each other they hold no meaning.
Purest dichotomy; necessities for being.
Some care for neither, whilst others for both.
As for me, I stay twisted for bearing no oath.
I’m made a recluse for my pondering questions;
Chased trinkets, facts and communal suggestions.
With help from religion, I’ve discovered one truth.
All of them fail me. Not one holds real proof.
There are no real answers; no new light to shed.
My desire to live makes me envy the dead.

Find Me

Find me. I am keeper of all that has and is;
The skeleton key with which to open any vault.
Do not be fooled by fabulists partial mimicry.
There is only one of me, and I cannot exist in fragments.
I create the world around you; all things past and present.
I am your greatest friend; your worst enemy;
Mightier than any Gods; their existence rests on bending me.
 I have never found a man that used me perfectly;
The very thought an impossibility of nature.
There are many who abuse me; binding me to falsehoods.
For some, I overtake them; my evidence protects me.
However, some defy me; leave me waiting to be found.
I am not easily forgotten, but have been forgotten easily.
It takes only one to conceal me, but millions to reveal me.
My power fades when docile numbers congregate.
When my pretenders gather numbers, I must seek a savior;
Share my knowledge in hope of being found once more.
The use of me, however, brings with it heavy burdens.
For most I am unwanted, shunned, desired buried.
The sheath I choose bears with it all the same,
But do not fear the grace of my immaculacy.
With me, but for a moment, all existence bows to listen.
My search has lacked results, while I dissolve in printed ink.
I endure all those that ask of me, while so few return the favor.
I am found in everything and nothing; everywhere and nowhere.
Accept my hand, and all the world shall bask in knowledge.
I am the real all knowing, all seeing eye; I dictate reality.
In exchange for my endowment, I beg of you one thing.
You must find me. For I am nothing without your voice.
